The Back Door

Its what they don’t say about life in the fast lane.

openLife has a funny way of introducing itself to you. Often times we take for granted the little experiences that we encounter on a daily basis. The children getting up to go to school, which seems like the most dreadful thing of their existence; or the stay at home mom preparing for another day of endless errands, cleaning, cooking, and otherwise being super-mom. The daily commuter in his car, on the bus, or riding the train off to another day of laborious work. Simple things seem to come with every day life.

One day while riding the morning commuter train, a fellow commuter requested the time. I knew this particular gentlemen wasn’t off to a corporate office job nor a blue collar one. He was a normal gentlemen with a cool baseball cap, a raspy voice, and trying to make his next public transit connection. I pulled the phone from my pocket to quickly tell the time so that I could continue my routine. However, this man wanted to share a bit of his life with me. The brief stories that he told where very intriguing, thought provoking, and honest. One of the greatest things that he said that left an impression with me was that kids don't know what's behind the back door.

smokingThe back door is the place that you enter after coming through the entrance of a lifestyle of sin. His story was that of drugs, foul play, women, prison time, death and destruction. These things await those children that don't understand that a life of fast money, drug, misdealing will lead to the path of destruction. Jesus says, "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." My prayer is that you choose the door where Jesus is the shepherd of the sheep fold verses the back door that is full of death and destruction.

I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. God has made promises to his people throughout the bible that he has faithfully kept.

From Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and many others; God continued to keep every promise that he made to his people. Before he left to heaven to be with the father, Jesus said that he would never leave us or forsake us even until the end of the age.

This promise is to every believer that believes on Christ as the scriptures has said; bless are they they do his commandments for they shall have a right to the tree of life. Choose Jesus today.
